Their plan was to travel two miles north on their improvised dinghy to Angel Island - once there, they would steal a car and some clothes and make good their escape. The real-life fate of Angling, Anglin, and Morris remains uncertain to this day. Finally, they escaped the island on an improvised inflatable raft - and this is where it gets interesting. They then broke out of the main prison block through ventilation ducts and an unused service corridor. It turns out that Frank (played by Eugene Cordero) is actually Frank Lee Morris - the former Alcatraz prisoner who escaped from the high-security prison on June 12, 1962, along with two other inmates: John and Clarence Anglin.Īlmost exactly as seen in Loki Season 2 Episode 5, the trio constructed papier mâché heads resembling themselves which they left in their beds, fooling guards into thinking they were still in their cells. It turns out Casey’s real name is Frank, and when Loki catches up with him on the timeline, he’s escaping from Alcatraz.
